The Kinship
Structure:
The Kinship's structure operates much like how modern guilds operate today. We run off of a tier-based structure where each specific task is assigned/voluntered to a specific player. For example guild specific tasks like Public Relations, Recruitment and Advertising, are handled by an individual member of the guild. In-game tasks are also formed the same way (in city defense – archer, reinforcement, etc). Each individual will be responsible for its own well being and results to help the guild’s needs. This allows the guild to be orginized, fun and, most importantly, highly efficient. Leadership will be provided by officers called the “Noble Court” to help guide objectives. The “Lord” will be responsible for upholding guild rules and conducts as well as “discipline.”
Ranks:
Aspirant
- Entry Rank
Vassal
- Loyal and committed member; alternate character
Squire
- Loyal and committed member; main character
Knight
- Officer of a specific task and advisors to the Lord and Commandants
Commandant
- Assistant Guild Masters (AGM), assists in all activities of the guild
Lord
- Guild Master (GM), creates and originizes all new activity of the guild
Policies:
- All characters inactive for longer than sixty (60) days will be removed from the guild. This includes member's alternitive characters.
- Members that have preemptively signed up for raids will be given raid placement priority over members that have not signed up. Raid sign ups can be found on the calender.
- Bank items will be handled by the guild leaders
Rules:
- Members are must maintain a high standard of behavior, in any writing or in any voice
- We are a family, any subversion, racism, sexism, and bigotry towards any members will result in dismissal from the guild
- Treat others, be they guild members or outsiders, as you would want yourself to be treated
- Sincerity and honesty are what make us respectable, and thus any lack of will not be tolerable
- Any form of “botting” or Cheating will be ground for dismissal and will be reported to Funcom
Expected code of conduct:
- To help maintain the high reputation of The Kinship, all players and members should feel welcome and desired to be a part of guild activities and social situations. Anyone intently left out, for any reason, goes against our principles of our family and brotherhood as well as our diplomatic standards.
- There should be absolutely NO DRAMA and all that implies
- Get involved in the guild! Play with your fellow members, post on the forums, and speak up in guild chat. We want your insight, opinions, and ideas
- We expect members to share their crafting skills and items with other Kinsmen without charging, minus the materials needed
- A fair “need-based” looting will be upheld
- We prefer you do not sell your loot; helping out one another should be our highest priority so we ask our members to donate loot to each other or the guild
- Communication is important with any organization. When it comes to leadership, open and quick communications are necessary. It is important that our “Noble Court” gives our members the feeling of a well-ran guild.
- Diplomacy is important in Age of Conan, as well as any game, diplomatic procedures with other players and guilds should be maintained at all times.
- Dismissal of guild members will be based off of the Warning System: One minor warning = referral, two minor warnings = dismissal, one serious warning = dismissal
Recruitment Requirements
If a person wishes to join our ranks they must apply through our website and complete the application by asking to join us formally. A quick background check will be made before extending the applicant the offer to become an Aspirant, or the recruiting officer may contact the individual to feel them out directly. While an Aspirant, it is important to get to know members and learn as much about how we operate as is possible. Expect to remain an Initiate for 1-2 weeks, possibly more, depending on how fast we get to know you. Votes for membership will be held in private by the recruitment council.
If any current member of The Kinship feels that a potential member should be disqualified for ANY reason they are invited to communicate this to any officer privately; that officer will pass the information along to the rest of the officers. Every member's opinion has as much weight and importance as any other member, so please speak your mind freely in this regard.
Current Requirements:
- Mature player of age 21+
- Players should converse in a higher standard of communication (IE: "leet" or "dewd" language)
- **Friendly, social, and a strong drive to work as a team member**
- Must fill out an application and use/visit the website on occasion
- Must be willing to follow guild rules
- Not so much a rule, but we encourage our members to use ventrilo
- After you have been accepted you have two days to fill out a sponsorship thread in our forums found here.
- Two Members must sponsor your application through website by posting on the sponsorship thread that you created above to become a full member of the guild.
- You will have a certain amount of time to accomplish these tasks in order to remain in the guild. We will use the 'common sense' rule to determine if you will remain in the guild. Generally our thoughts are about a week or two depending on your level (if your below level 40 you will usually get an extended amount of time.) This to insure our members are motivated to be social with the guild and not a 'solo only' player.
Leaving The Kinship
In the event you choose to no longer be part of The Kinship family, we ask that you contact an officer via /tell, PM or Email to announce your intention to remove yourself from the Guild. We would very much appreciate a bit of information as to why, but we obviously cannot enforce this request.
